In between bending wire into 5 pointed stars and wrapping them in beads - as you do - I went to a lovely carol service at St Mary Redcliffe church in Bristol yesterday evening. The church looked amazing, candles everywhere and thronged with people. Silly me should've arrived a good 10 or 15 minutes earlier in order to get a seat in the main body of the church, so I ended up tucked away at the side. Never mind, the music was splendid, and it was all thoroughly Christmassy. There is something magical about hearing that lone voice at the beginning of the service - 1 choir member singing 'Once in Royal David's City ...' It's a goosebumps moment. You'd have to be hard-hearted not to find it moving.
The choir sang 'The Holly & The Ivy' too, which is a touch melancholy, and none the worse for that. Also the traditional English song 'I saw three kings'. I love that mix of an English element (the ships, so appropriate for an island nation) being combined with the nativity story.
From the sublime to the ridiculous, as the saying goes. I got back in time to watch 'The Apprentice'. TBH I couldn't care less who won, but I've enjoyed the series and the gleeful bitchiness of the Twittersphere as the tasks unraveled over the weeks.

Another finished star. My technique with these is definitely improving.
