With Halloween only just having taken place, it seems the time to be reading ghostly tales. This is a great collection, edited by Kate Pullinger and published by Virago. As the anthology came out in 2011 it's likely you'll find it at the library or maybe secondhand. With the exception of Daphne du Maurier all the short stories were written by authors new to me, and they're an eclectic and inventive lot.
Perhaps give them a try?
